- 01Market narratives and why they matter.A market narrative is the main story traders use to explain price moves, such as the belief that a central bank will soon cut rates. It shapes which economic data get attention and how strongly prices react, so the same surprise can move a currency a lot in one month and barely at all in another.
- 02Spotting a narrative shift.A narrative shift is when the market starts reading the same news through a new question, such as rate cuts instead of rate hikes. Signs include smaller or reversed reactions to familiar data, swings in rate expectations, a fading link to the old driver and a break in price structure, though none is reliable on its own.
