Alpha Trend Trading EA is an MT4 expert advisor that uses trend detection logic and two indicator/entry combinations so it adapts to different market conditions. Stops, trailing stops and take profits scale with current volatility instead of fixed pip distances.
The EA provides percent-risk automatic lot sizing, an hour and weekday time filter, and an optional Recovery Mode that increases lot sizes after losses in an attempt to recover.
Run the EA on demo first, use a low-spread ECN account and a VPS for continuous operation, and keep Recovery Mode off while you learn how it affects drawdown.
About Recovery Mode. When enabled, the EA raises lot sizes after losing trades to try to recover prior drawdowns. This behaviour is similar in spirit to martingale and can substantially increase drawdown during extended adverse moves. Keep it off while testing on demo and enable it only with clear risk limits and enough capital.

How the EA works
The core is a trend detector that signals entries near the start of moves. Two indicator-based entry modes help the EA work across different market regimes.
Exit levels are dynamic. Stop loss, trailing stop and take profit adjust with measured volatility so targets and buffers widen when market noise increases and tighten when it calms.
Position sizing uses a percent-risk input that converts your chosen risk into a lot size for each trade. A time filter limits trading to specified hours and weekdays to avoid thin sessions and news spikes.
Recovery Mode and risk
Recovery Mode is an optional routine that increases lot sizes after losses until previous drawdowns are recovered. It can smooth equity in short winning sequences but can also magnify drawdown if an unfavorable trend continues.
Because of that, keep Recovery Mode off during initial demo testing, use low percent risk settings, and size capital to cover the largest drawdown you observe in forward testing.
Who should consider this EA
This EA fits traders who prefer a rules-based trend-following approach with automatic percent-risk sizing and control over trading hours. It is not suitable for traders who want a no-oversight, high-risk recovery scheme enabled by default.

- Unzip the package and copy the Experts folder and provided set files into your MT4 MQL4/Experts and MQL4/Files folders as shown in the PDF guide
- Restart MT4, attach the EA to an H1 chart (start with EURUSD) and load the provided set file (Alpha-ea-eurjpy.set or Alpha-ea-gbpusd.set)
- In MT4, enable Algo Trading so the EA can place orders
- Run the EA on demo for at least two to four weeks. Keep Recovery Mode off while you gather trade frequency and drawdown numbers
- Use a low-spread ECN or raw account and a reliable VPS so H1 signals are executed without interruption
- Record the deepest drawdown and number of trades per week, then size live capital accordingly; open accounts through AutoFXRebate if you want to collect per-lot rebates
