How GoldStorm approaches gold
GoldStorm looks for fractal breakouts, meaning price moves beyond recent swing highs or lows, then checks direction with a 50-period moving average. The MA filter reduces entries that go against the dominant move, so the EA tends to trade with the larger trend.
Because it waits for confirmed breakouts, trading frequency is limited. In quiet or ranging sessions you may see few or no trades for extended periods.
The three selectable modes
Each mode changes how aggressively the EA takes setups and which timeframes it references, so you can match it to market conditions and your own style.
- Conservative Swing: reads H4 structure and enters on H1 for wider swings and a higher reward-to-risk profile.
- Aggressive Momentum: uses H1 and M30 to capture faster breakout moves during volatile sessions.
- Trend Following: takes bias from the daily chart and enters on H1 pullbacks for longer directional runs.
Risk plumbing and trade handling
Every trade has a stop loss. The EA also applies break even and trailing stop logic and includes filters for spread, news and market hours. Lot sizing scales with account size and there are daily limits on trade frequency.

- Download and unzip the GoldStorm EA package. It includes a PDF install guide.
- Copy the Expert file into MQL5/Experts, copy the PDF guide to a convenient folder, and restart MetaTrader 5.
- Attach GoldStorm MT5 Expert Advisor to an XAUUSD chart on H1, enable Algo Trading (AutoTrading), and start with the default settings and one of the three modes selected.
- Run the EA on a demo account for one to four weeks. Record trade frequency, average stop-to-target distance, and the deepest drawdown you observe.
