This download is listed as the 5 in 1 One Strategy MT5 robot, and the cover art calls it Shelby EA, but the file inside the archive is Thomas_mt5.ex5. That is EA Thomas MT5, a commercial robot by developer Vitali Vasilenka that used to sell on the MQL5 Market.
The selling point is convenience: one EA that holds five separate entry engines and picks one of them per setup. The five are EA New Way, EA Flower, EA Golden Elephant, EA Goofy and EA Donald Duck. It scans several timeframes, is aimed mainly at gold and the major pairs, and lets you switch individual strategies on or off through set files.
The catch is the risk model. The marketing frames martingale as optional and off by default, but independent reviews report that the EA uses grid and martingale with a rising lot size, that the profit factor came out around 0.90 over 625 trades, and that a tracked live account was fully liquidated. The MQL5 product page and its live signal have since been delisted, so none of the original figures can be checked at source anymore.

What you are actually downloading
The catalogue title and the folder name do not match the binary. The archive is named for Shelby EA and sold under the 5 in 1 One Strategy label, but the executable is Thomas_mt5.ex5, the file for EA Thomas MT5. The give away is the list of five sub strategies in the copy, which is EA Thomas word for word.
Knowing the real product matters, because it lets you check the original reviews and the risk profile instead of trusting a rebranded page. EA Thomas was a real, once popular product, not an anonymous freebie, so there is a track record to read.
Five strategies under one chart
The design idea is that a single EA carries five different entry engines and applies one at a time based on the risk level you set:
- EA New Way: an aggressive engine that itself blends several older methods for trend entries.
- EA Flower: a high frequency style that reads bar opens and closes and trades broken runs of rising or falling prices.
- EA Golden Elephant: a trend reversal filter meant to cut market noise and time entries.
- EA Goofy: a close cousin of Golden Elephant, tuned for trend and noise filtering.
- EA Donald Duck: a volume reader that looks for reversals around peaks in traded volume.
The grid and martingale problem
The base mode puts a small stop loss and take profit on each trade, which sounds conservative. The issue is what sits behind it. Independent reviews report grid and martingale with a lot size that steps up after losses, a profit factor near 0.90 over 625 trades, and roughly 84 percent winning trades.
A win rate that high next to a profit factor below 1.0 is the classic recovery trap: many small wins, then one deep losing sequence that gives it all back and more. That pattern lines up with the reports of a live account going to zero, and it is the single most important thing to understand before running this EA with real money.

Features
- One chart runs a chooser across five sub strategies
- Multi timeframe entry scan aimed at gold and the major pairs
- Small stop loss and take profit on each base trade
- Optional grid and martingale recovery, off by default in the marketed settings
- Per strategy on and off switches through set files
- Designed to run on a VPS for continuous 24/5 operation
Performance
Figures are from cached and third-party review sources, because the MQL5 product page and the live signal are both delisted and cannot be verified at source. Reviewers reported a profit factor near 0.90 over 625 trades with about 84 percent winners, which is the shape of a martingale system that wins often and then loses badly, consistent with reports of a live account being fully liquidated. The 4.78 out of 5 rating (24 reviews) reflects buyer sentiment before the listing was removed.
Pros
- Bundles five separate entry styles into one configurable EA
- Small fixed stop loss and take profit in the base, non recovery mode
- Broad symbol coverage across gold and the major pairs
- Was well rated by buyers on MQL5 (4.78 out of 5) while it was live
Cons
- Marketing downplays the grid and martingale that reviews confirm it uses
- Reported profit factor of about 0.90 over 625 trades, below breakeven
- A tracked live account reportedly went to full liquidation
- The MQL5 listing and its live signal are gone, so nothing can be verified at source
- The shared zip is labelled Shelby EA but contains the EA Thomas binary
Setup
- Keep grid and martingale switched off and treat the base mode as the only sane starting point
- Forward test on demo for several weeks on your own broker feed before any real money
- Use a low spread ECN account, since gold and the majors are spread sensitive here
- Size positions to survive a long losing streak, because the high win rate hides the tail risk
- If you must test it, run on a stable VPS and cap risk hard given the liquidation reports
Verdict
2.5/5EA Thomas is a genuine, once popular MQL5 product rather than a random freebie, and the five in one idea is a real convenience. Buyers rated it well while it was live, and the base mode with a fixed stop loss looks reasonable on paper.
The numbers that matter point the other way. A profit factor under 1.0, a high win rate that masks large losing trades, grid and martingale that the marketing plays down, and a live account that reportedly blew up all say the same thing. With the listing and signal now delisted, there is nothing left to verify. Treat this free copy as a study piece, not a trading system, and if you test it at all, do so on demo with the recovery modes off.
