Ultimatum Breakout EA

Fully automated MT4 breakout robot. It enters with pending orders, keeps a small stop loss on every trade and adjusts its levels to the live spread. Recommended on EURUSD and USDJPY, H1.

Expert AdvisorMT4BreakoutEURUSD, USDJPYNo martingale or grid

Ultimatum Breakout EA is a fully automated MT4 robot that trades breakouts. It waits for price to break a level and tries to be in the move when that happens. It does not chase the market. It places a pending order just beyond the breakout point and keeps it there only while its internal indicator filters still agree the setup is valid. You don't need to read those filters on the chart. You see the pending order, and once it fills, the trade with its stop and target. EURUSD and USDJPY on H1 are the recommended markets, though the EA runs on any pair and timeframe.

Risk control is the most detailed part of the design. Every trade opens with a small stop loss. The EA also adds the current spread to the pending price, the stop loss, the trailing stop and the breakeven level, so those distances match the conditions on your account. It uses no martingale, grid, arbitrage or scalping. Lot size is either fixed or a percentage of balance, and you can limit trading to set hours and stop early on Fridays.

Run it on demo first and set Max_Spread for your broker. Give the demo at least a week before going live, and longer if you can. If the spread is wider than Max_Spread, pending orders will not trigger. Too tight a limit can leave the EA idle, and too loose a limit lets it trade through news spikes.

How a trade is placed

The EA watches for a level that price keeps pressing against. When its filters confirm the setup, it places a pending order a short distance beyond that level. Nothing opens unless price breaks out and fills the order. The stop loss and take profit are attached from the start, both measured in points from the inputs.

Two inputs guard the entry. Max_Spread stops a pending order from triggering while the spread is wider than you allow. Slippage caps how far a fill can drift. With Order_Type you can restrict the EA to one direction, which helps if you want to test buys and sells separately on demo.

Stop loss, breakeven and trailing

Each exit tool has its own switch. You can run the fixed stop alone or add the others on top. When Adaptive_Spread_for_trade is true, the EA adds the spread to the stop loss and the trailing stop, so a moment of wide spread is less likely to take you out early.

  • Stop_Loss and Take_Profit set the starting distances, in points.
  • Use_Smart_StopLoss moves the stop as price travels. Smart_StopLoss sets the step.
  • Once price passes Breakeven_Target_PipsInp, Use_Break_Even moves the stop to breakeven and locks in Breakeven_Jump_PipsInp.
  • Use_Trailing protects open profit (Trailing_Stop is the distance, Trailing_Step the increment).
  • Turn on Use_Risk_MM and set Percentage_Risk if you want the lot to grow with the balance. With it off, the EA trades Fixed_Lot.

What to weigh before you run it

Breakout systems make money when price follows through, and when it doesn't they lose small amounts, often. In a quiet, ranging week on EURUSD, expect a run of filled orders that reverse and hit the tight stop. That is the cost of the approach, and the small stop keeps it manageable. Judge the EA over several weeks rather than a handful of trades.

The EA relies on pending orders, trailing stops and a small stop distance. It is sensitive to spread and fills. It runs as designed only on a low-latency VPS with a low-spread, low-commission broker that fills fast. Use Every_Day_Start and Every_Day_End to limit the hours it trades. The Friday cut-off stops it early at the end of the week.

Features

  • Enters with pending orders placed beyond breakout levels
  • Built-in indicator filters screen each setup before an order goes in
  • Every trade gets a small fixed stop loss and a take profit
  • Spread added to the pending price, stop loss, trailing stop and breakeven
  • Smart stop loss, breakeven and trailing stop, each with its own switch
  • Fixed lot or a risk percentage of balance
  • Daily trading window and Friday cut-off, with GMT offset

Performance

Results depend heavily on your broker's spread and execution. The demo period shows you what the EA does on your account. Over at least a week, preferably a month, record how many pending orders fill, how often trades reach breakeven or trailing, the average loss against your Stop_Loss setting, and the slippage on each fill. Compare trending weeks with ranging ones. Use those numbers to choose a lot size or risk percentage your balance can carry.

Advantages

  • Small stop loss on every trade, with no martingale, grid or averaging down
  • Entries and exits include the spread, so levels adapt to your account
  • Exit tools and time filters can be switched on one at a time
  • Short setup focused on two liquid majors on H1

Disadvantages

  • Ranging markets can stop out breakout entries again and again
  • The entry filters sit inside the EA and have no inputs for tuning
  • Runs as designed only with a VPS and a low-spread broker that executes fast
  • MT4 only

Setup

  1. Unzip the package, open MT4 and go to File > Open Data Folder, then copy Ultimatum Breakout EA into MQL4/Experts. The MT4 install PDF in the package covers each step.
  2. Restart MT4. Turn on AutoTrading and tick Allow automated trading under Tools > Options > Expert Advisors.
  3. Open EURUSD or USDJPY on H1 and attach the EA with the default inputs. Set Max_Spread to fit your broker, and enter the GMT offset if you plan to use the time filters.
  4. Start small, either Fixed_Lot at the minimum size or Use_Risk_MM with a low Percentage_Risk.
  5. Demo for at least one week, ideally several. Log fills, losses against the stop, slippage and how the EA behaves in ranging sessions.
  6. For live trading, use a low-latency VPS and a low-spread commission account. If you open that account through AutoFXRebate, you get backcom on every lot traded.

What Ultimatum Breakout EA costs to run

The EA is free, but every trade it opens still pays the spread, plus commission on accounts that charge one. On EURUSD that comes to $4.13 to $12.90 a lot after the rebate, depending on the account.

Verdict

Ultimatum Breakout EA suits traders who want automation with a conservative risk model. It runs one position logic, puts a small stop on every trade and never doubles up after a loss. It fits best if you are happy trading two majors on H1 and can accept that breakouts bring a share of small, quick losses.

Install it on MT4 and run the defaults on demo with a minimal lot. Move to a live account only when the demo figures sit comfortably within your risk limits. The EA is a free download from AutoFXRebate with an install guide, and our Telegram group can help with setup or the inputs.
