XTrader Pro Gold EA is a fully automated MT4 robot for one market, gold against the dollar. It scalps on the M5 chart. Entries are buy trades aimed at a few pips, and in a calm market a trade often opens and closes within seconds or a few minutes.
When the first buy goes against it, the EA does not take the loss. It opens more buys at intervals, up to ten positions, and closes the whole group once the combined result reaches its money target. That recovery phase can keep trades open for hours. Learn it first. Grid recovery and account size. A losing entry turns into a basket of up to ten buys with no stop on any single trade, so a sharp drop in gold shows up as one large floating loss. How a normal trade looks
The EA trades gold only and is meant for the M5 chart. During the session window it opens a 0.01 lot buy and tries to take a few pips from a small move. If price cooperates, the trade closes quickly, sometimes within seconds. Then the EA waits for the next setup.
You will mostly see buy positions. On a quiet day the history fills with short, small trades from the scalping side of the robot.
What happens when a trade goes wrong
If price drops after an entry, the EA switches to its grid. It adds buys at intervals below the first one, which pulls the average entry price down, and it closes the whole group when the basket reaches the money target set in the inputs. Individual trades have no stop loss.
This is where the risk sits. While the grid is working, positions can stay open for hours, and the floating loss grows with every leg gold falls. A steady pullback usually ends with the basket closed near break even or a small gain, while a strong sell off, often around news, can push the account into deep drawdown before any exit is reached.
- Count how many positions each basket reaches on your demo runs.
- Note how long baskets stay open, and the deepest floating loss you see.
- Make sure the 23:57 forced close lands when you expect on your server clock.
Who it suits
It fits traders who already know how grid systems behave and have the capital to carry a full basket. You also have to be willing to switch it off around big gold news. A cent account keeps real money exposure small while you learn its rhythm.
Skip it if you want a fixed stop on every trade or your account is small in standard dollars. A stop based robot will serve you better.

Performance
Results on your account depend mostly on how often the grid triggers and how far gold moves while it is open. Run it on demo or a cent account for at least a week, ideally several. Each day, log the trades taken, the largest basket size, the longest time a basket stayed open and the deepest floating drawdown. Size your live balance against the worst of those numbers, not the average.

Setup
- Open the MT4 install PDF in the package and follow it alongside these steps
- In MT4 go to File > Open Data Folder > MQL4 > Experts, copy XTrader Pro Gold EA there and restart MT4

- Run it on a demo or cent account for at least one week, recording basket size, holding time and deepest drawdown
