Trend Following Multi-Currency EA
A fully automated MT4 robot that runs a 17-pair trend basket from a single EURUSD M1 chart. It suits a $3,000 balance or a cent account. Give it a week or more on demo before going live.
Trend Following Multi-Currency EA is a fully automated MT4 robot that trades a basket of 17 forex pairs from one chart. You attach it once, to EURUSD on M1. It then opens and manages trades on every symbol in its input list and follows the prevailing direction on each pair.
Entries come from three bundled trend indicators. These are HalfTrend, SuperTrend and T3 High Low Activator MTF. The EA also tracks each pair's results over a long lookback and stops trading any pair that has been losing until conditions turn in its favour again. Your starting balance matters more than the entry signals, because behind those entries sit a hedging system and a modified grid with soft martingale.
We treat $3,000, or the same figure on a cent account, as the floor for running all 17 pairs. Give it at least a week on demo before real money. Longer is better.
Grid and soft martingale. When a pair moves against an open position, the EA can add trades at larger lots and hedge the exposure instead of closing at a fixed stop. The supplied presets have no stop loss, and both MaxLot and the Account Protection inputs are set to 0. Cap the lot size and fill in the protection values before you run it. Start on a demo or cent account.

How the basket trades
The pair list lives in the syms input. By default it holds 17 symbols, from the majors through to crosses such as CADCHF, NZDCAD and EURGBP. The EA scans the whole list from the EURUSD M1 chart and enters a pair when the indicators agree on its trend. It skips any pair whose long-term record has turned negative.
A higher-timeframe check, useHTFSup, can confirm the trend on M1, M5, M15, M30 and H1 before an entry. It is off in the M1 preset and on in the 0.01 lot balance preset. Run each preset on its own demo account to see how much the trade count changes between them.
The risk inputs to set before you start
AllowOpposite is on, so the EA can hold buys and sells on the same pair at the same time. That is the hedging side. When a pair runs against the basket, the grid opens more trades and the soft martingale raises their size so the sequence can close at its take profit. Normal swings are usually absorbed this way, but a long trend against the basket builds real exposure. Check these inputs before the first live trade:
- LOt is the starting lot, 0.01 in all three presets.
- MaxLot, the lot ceiling, is 0 in the presets. Enter a figure that fits your balance.
- maxspread blocks entries when spread is wide. It is set to 300.
- UseNewsFilter is off by default. Switched on, it pauses trading 90 minutes before and 30 minutes after high impact news, with shorter pauses for medium and low impact.
- inpUpDD and inpDownDD (Account Protection group) stay at 0 until you set them.
What to weigh before running it
The MT4 strategy tester only tests the pair on the chart, and it cannot simulate the filter that switches pairs on and off. So a backtest says little about the full basket. Judge the EA on a forward test on demo instead. It also has to stay connected around the clock, because the pair scoring and the grid both depend on seeing every tick, so plan on a VPS.
This EA fits traders with a $3,000 balance or a cent account who accept grid risk and want one chart to cover many pairs. It is not for small accounts. If you want a fixed stop on every trade, pick a different tool.
Features
- Trades 17 forex pairs from a single EURUSD M1 chart
- Trend entries from HalfTrend, SuperTrend and T3 High Low Activator MTF
- A pair filter pauses pairs with a weak long-term record
- Hedging and a modified grid with soft martingale
- Optional higher-timeframe confirmation, M1 up to H1
- News filter with its own pause time for each impact level
- On-chart panel showing running profit and loss; three presets ready to load
Performance
MT4 cannot backtest the full basket. Judge this EA on a forward demo instead, run for at least a week (a month if you can) on the account type you plan to use live. For each pair, log the most trades open at once and the largest lot the grid reached. Also record the deepest floating drawdown on the account. Compare those numbers with your balance before you choose the live account and the MaxLot value.
Advantages
- One chart and one preset run the whole basket, so setup is quick
- With trades spread over 17 pairs, results do not hang on a single market
- The pair filter steps away from pairs that have been losing
- Lot cap, spread limit, news filter and drawdown protection are all in the inputs
Disadvantages
- During a long trend against the basket, the soft martingale grid can build large exposure
- All 17 pairs need $3,000 or a cent account
- Backtests cover one pair and miss the pair filter. Only a forward demo shows real behaviour
- Must run 24/5 on a VPS
Setup
- Unzip the package and follow the MT4 install PDF. The EA goes into MQL4/Experts, the three indicators into MQL4/Indicators and the set files into MQL4/Presets
- Restart MT4 and turn on AutoTrading. Check that all 17 symbols show in Market Watch
- Open EURUSD on M1, attach the EA and load the M1 preset. If your broker adds a dot to symbol names, use the broker suffix preset instead. For any other suffix, edit the syms list to match
- Enter a MaxLot value and fill in the Account Protection inputs before starting. Decide whether you want the news filter on
- Run on demo or a small cent account for at least a week, ideally a month. Log floating drawdown, open trades per pair and the largest lot used
- For live trading you need a reliable VPS, an ECN account and $3,000 or the cent equivalent. Open that account through AutoFXRebate and you get backcom on every lot the basket trades
Verdict
This EA is for traders who want one chart to cover a broad trend basket and are comfortable with grid risk, either on a cent account or with $3,000 or more. The one-chart setup and the pair filter make it easy to run. The risk inputs take the work. Most come at 0 and are yours to set.
Our suggested path is to install from the PDF, set MaxLot and Account Protection, then run the M1 preset on demo until you know how deep the basket goes in drawdown. Go live only when that figure fits your balance. The package is a free download at AutoFXRebate, and our Telegram group can help with installation and inputs. If a grid basket is not for you, the AutoFXRebate library has other options.
