Trend Scalp EA

An MT4 scalping robot for EURUSD on M15. It buys dips in an uptrend and sells rallies in a downtrend. A grid comes in only when the trend is clear.

Expert AdvisorMT4EURUSDM15Flex grid with two-layer stop

Trend Scalp EA trades one pair in one style. It reads the trend on a larger timeframe, waits for an M15 pullback against it, then opens a short scalp in the trend's direction. Basket targets are small, usually 5 to 15 pips, and the EA expects to get in and out several times a day.

Money management uses a flex grid. When the trend filter agrees, the EA can add positions to a basket rather than rely on one entry. In a ranging market the grid stays off. Each basket has two stops, one that adapts to current volatility and a fixed failsafe for abnormal conditions. A trade panel on the chart lets you place your own trades next to the automated ones.

Grid and account size. The flex grid adds positions to a basket, so your exposure keeps growing as long as a pullback runs. The recommended minimum is $3000, or the same amount on a cent account. With a smaller balance, test on a cent account instead of cutting the lot size and hoping the grid behaves.

How a trade comes about

The EA starts with the higher timeframe. If that timeframe is trending up, it looks only for buys and waits for an M15 dip before it enters. In a downtrend it does the reverse. Trades are short, with an average hold of about an hour and a half, and a normal day brings roughly five to ten of them.

Each basket makes only a few pips, so the EA depends on trading often. That works during an active EURUSD session. On a wide-spread account it works badly, because every entry pays away part of a target that was small to begin with.

The flex grid and the two stops

A grid adds orders as price moves against the first entry. That improves the basket's average price and also increases the size you carry. Here the trend filter decides whether the grid can open, so in a flat market the EA trades single entries or stays out.

The stops limit that extra size. The first layer moves with volatility, tighter when the market is quiet and wider when EURUSD swings. The second is fixed and is there for spikes, gaps and other moments when the adaptive layer can't keep up.

  • Adaptive stop, which follows current volatility so risk stays in line with the target
  • A fixed failsafe stop that caps exposure in extreme conditions
  • The grid engages only while the larger trend holds

Who it suits

It suits traders who will let a scalper work EURUSD all day and have the capital for the grid. You also need a VPS to host it. If you want to approve every trade before it opens, or your account is well below the recommended balance, a manual tool or a single-entry EA will suit you better. The trade panel helps when you want to add an occasional trade of your own, but the EA itself is meant to run hands off.

Features

  • Reads the trend on a higher timeframe and enters on M15 pullbacks
  • Built for EURUSD, with M15 as its home timeframe
  • Flex grid that stays inactive while the market ranges
  • Adaptive stop loss tied to current volatility
  • Fixed failsafe stop for abnormal conditions
  • Trade panel on the chart for your own orders
  • Average hold of about 1.5 hours a trade

Performance

Run it on a demo or cent account for well past the one week minimum, ideally a full month with some news days in it. Log trades per day, how often the grid adds a second or third position, the deepest floating drawdown of any basket, and which stop closed each losing basket. Note the spread at entry too. With targets this small, that number shows early whether your account type is suitable.

Advantages

  • Narrow scope that is easy to follow, with one pair, one timeframe and trades only with the trend
  • The grid holds back in ranging markets instead of firing all the time
  • Every basket has two independent stop layers
  • You can add your own orders from the trade panel without leaving the chart

Disadvantages

  • Exposure grows while a pullback keeps extending, because the flex grid adds positions
  • The $3000 recommended balance is high for many retail accounts
  • Small targets make results sensitive to spread, slippage and execution speed
  • MT4 only, and it needs a VPS to run as intended

Setup

  1. Unzip the package and copy the Trend Scalp EA file into MQL4/Experts. The MT4 install PDF in the package walks through each step
  2. Restart MetaTrader 4 and turn on AutoTrading
  3. Open EURUSD on M15, attach Trend Scalp EA and leave the inputs at their defaults
  4. Test on a demo or cent account for at least a month, logging trades per day, grid depth and the deepest basket drawdown
  5. Move it to a reliable VPS so it runs without interruption, then check that the trade panel and stops behave as expected
  6. Go live on a low-spread account. If you open it through AutoFXRebate, you earn backcom on every lot the EA trades

What Trend Scalp EA costs to run

The EA is free, but every trade it opens still pays the spread, plus commission on accounts that charge one. On EURUSD that comes to $4.13 to $12.90 a lot after the rebate, depending on the account.

Broker · AccountEURUSD

Verdict

Trend Scalp EA is for traders who want an active EURUSD scalper that trades with the larger trend and who have the balance to carry a grid basket. The trend filter on the grid and the two stop layers keep it manageable. Watch both closely while you test.

We suggest a long demo or cent run on M15 with default settings, and a VPS from day one. Go live only once the deepest basket drawdown you saw fits comfortably in your account. The EA is free to download from AutoFXRebate, with the install PDF in the package. If any setup step is unclear, ask in our Telegram group.
