Trend Wave EA
A fully automated MT5 robot that trades short-term reversals from the Trend Wave oscillator and uses martingale to recover losing sequences. It is built for M15 and meant to run on a VPS.
Trend Wave EA is a fully automated MT5 robot built on the Trend Wave oscillator. The oscillator tracks where a wave move begins and where it starts to run out. The EA watches its overbought and oversold zones for short-term reversals.
Your risk depends mostly on how the EA handles losing trades. After a loss it opens the next trade with a larger lot, the classic martingale approach, so one winner can recover the earlier losses in the sequence. That pushes the capital requirement high for a robot of this size. We suggest spending real time on demo before it goes near a live account.
Martingale and account size. Lots grow after every loss, so a long move against the EA builds a large floating drawdown. Respect the $2000 minimum on a standard account, or use a $100 cent account. Start with the smallest lot and size the account for the worst losing streak you see on demo, not for an average week.

How the EA reads the market
The Trend Wave oscillator swings between overbought and oversold levels as a wave trend develops and fades. When price stretches into one of those zones, the EA reads it as a likely turning point. It then opens a trade in the opposite direction and aims for the short pullback that often follows.
M15 is the recommended timeframe. The pair list leans on majors and CAD and CHF crosses, plus gold. The EA runs on any pair or timeframe, which helps with testing, but learn the listed setup first.
Living with martingale
Reversal entries do well in choppy, ranging markets and get caught out when a trend keeps going. The EA answers that with martingale, adding a larger trade after each loss so the next winner covers the sequence. Most of the time this looks calm. The risk sits in the rare long streak, so plan your account around that streak.
- Watch floating drawdown as well as closed trades. Open losses are where martingale shows its weight.
- Several recommended pairs share CAD, EUR or USD, so trades on different charts can go wrong at the same time. Run fewer pairs until you know how they move together.
- A cent account shows the full recovery cycle with real execution and small money at stake.
Who it suits
It suits traders who already understand recovery systems and have the capital the EA asks for. They also need to monitor it instead of leaving it alone for months. If you want a fixed stop loss on every trade and a hard limit on each position, pick a stop-based robot instead.
Features
- Automated entries from the Trend Wave oscillator's overbought and oversold zones
- Targets short-term reversals at the edges of wave trends
- Martingale recovery raises the lot size after a loss
- Recommended setup: M15 with a defined list of 13 pairs, XAUUSD included
- Runs on any pair or timeframe if you want to test
- Low sensitivity to spread and slippage
- Built to run around the clock on a VPS
Performance
Results from a martingale EA depend heavily on the period it runs through, so the demo is where you learn how it really behaves. Run it for at least a week, ideally several. Log the deepest floating drawdown, the longest losing sequence, the largest lot it reached and the weekly trade count on each pair. Those numbers tell you whether your balance can carry the EA and how many pairs you can run at once.
Advantages
- Simple to attach, with a clear starting point of M15 and a named pair list
- Low sensitivity to spread and slippage, so execution quality matters less than usual
- The cent account option lets you learn on real execution with small money
- Runs on any pair or timeframe, which makes side-by-side demo tests easy
Disadvantages
- Martingale lets drawdown grow fast during a long trend against the position
- High capital requirement on a standard account ($2000 minimum)
- Correlated pairs in the recommended list can stack losses at the same time
- Reversal entries fight strong trends, so results depend on market conditions
Setup
- Unzip the package, open MT5 and go to File, Open Data Folder, then copy the EA into MQL5/Experts. The MT5 install PDF in the package shows each step.
- Restart MetaTrader 5, press Algo Trading on the toolbar and allow algorithmic trading in the EA properties
- Open EURUSD or another listed pair on M15 and attach the EA with default inputs. Set the smallest starting lot available.
- Demo for at least a week, logging floating drawdown, the longest losing streak and the largest lot opened
- For live trading, use an ECN account with $2000 or more, or a $100 cent account, and keep the EA on a reliable VPS
- Open your live account through AutoFXRebate to receive backcom on every lot the EA trades
What Trend Wave EA costs to run
The EA is free, but every trade it opens still pays the spread, plus commission on accounts that charge one. On AUDCAD that comes to $6.21 to $16.49 a lot after the rebate, depending on the account.
| Broker · Account | AUDCAD | EURUSD | GBPUSD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exness Raw Spread | $6.21 (lowest) | $4.13 (lowest) | $4.88 (lowest) |
| Exness Pro | $6.37 | $4.50 | $5.25 |

| XM Ultra Low Standard | $12.62 | $7.85 | $9.35 |
| XM Standard | $16.49 | $11.90 | $14.00 |
The top figure is the cost of one lot, opened and closed, after the rebate. The struck-through figure is the cost before it. These are estimates from the typical spread of the last 12 hours plus commission.
